The Paddocks is a quiet rural retreat set in extremely pleasant surroundings. It is within easy driving distance of the historic town of Norwich, and just 10 miles from the North Norfolk Coast and numerous other attractions, including the delightful Georgian town of Holt.

The area boasts a wealth of historic properties, including the National Trust properties of Blickling, Felbrigg, and Oxborough Halls, plus Sandingham and Houghton Hall (predecessor to Chequers), the country home of Sir Robert Walpole, Britain’s first Prime Minister.

The wide open skies and seascapes of Norfolk have justifiably become famous both in art and on film and in particular the beautiful sand dunes and acres of soft sand at Holkham Beach recently featured in the noted shipwreck scene with Gweneth Paltrow in "Shakespeare in Love". Whether you are painting, sailing, riding, walking cycling (Norfolk is flat!), bird watching or just generally getting away from it all, the North Norfolk coast and countryside offer you all that you could desire.
